What We Do
Homes with support
After years of living and sharing with others, young people leaving care are often daunted by the prospect of living alone. It can feel frightening, lonely and difficult.
Key2 provides safe, secure homes for young people leaving care usually aged 15 -19, with the right level of support to help them become as independent as they can and want to be. Our support staff work one-to-one with young people to help build their confidence, responsibility, self-awareness and self-worth.
We offer self-contained and shared homes, for just few months or up to a few years, depending on each person’s age and needs.
Skills for life
Young people leaving care rarely have the parental and family support and guidance available to their peers. So Key2 offers individual and group support to build essential life skills like:
-
managing money
-
setting up and looking after a home
-
education, training and employment
-
social skills and relationships
-
positive health and wellbeing
-
culture and personal identity
-
citizenship and community

Moving on
We don’t abandon people when they leave a Key2 home. We work up and agree a move-on plan with each person, to give reassurance and security as they move on to full independence.
